How to use Base45
Base45 is an RFC 9285 encoding designed for compact text data, including use in EU Digital COVID Certificates. It is not a security mechanism.
Encode text as Base45
Choose Encode and enter UTF-8 text. The tool uses the exact Base45 alphabet, where spaces can be meaningful characters.
Decode Base45 carefully
Choose Decode and paste the complete Base45 value. Keep embedded spaces intact because they can be part of the encoded data.
